Palm Springs interior designer Christopher Kennedy announces a full February weekend of house tours

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OCTOBER 14, 2022

Palm Springs, CA - His name is nearly synonymous with modernism, but in February 2023 interior designer Christopher Kennedy will be charting a new path -- alongside some charitable (and furry) friends.

On February 18 and 19 2023, Kennedy will be opening the doors to private houses of his own design in the coveted historic neighborhoods of Vista Las Palmas and Indian Canyons.

These are private homes of Kennedy's clients. Most have never been open to the public before, and likely will not be again.

In 2014, Kennedy and his team created the idea of renovating a midcentury house specifically for Modernism Week, partnering with magazines, world-class brands, and nationally renowned interior designers to produce the decorator showcase that became known as The Christopher Kennedy Compound. Kennedy’s show house was named the #1 Must See Event of Modernism Week by The Hollywood Reporter and, for five years, generally attracted about 5000 attendees annually over the course of Modernism Week. The homes were published by Architectural Digest, Luxe Magazine, Traditional Home, California Home & Design, The Wall Street Journal, and other media outlets around the globe.

Says Kennedy, “Creating five spectacular Show Houses for Modernism Week will always be a highlight of my career. "

"We closed the doors to our last Christopher Kennedy Compound in 2019, and since then, the world has changed dramatically. This year, I am thrilled to announce a fun and inspiring weekend lineup, with the ticket sales supporting a charity that is very close to my heart.” -Christopher

Proceeds from the house tours and parties will directly benefit the Palm Springs Animal

Shelter.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Christopher to help raise funds for the

thousands of animals we serve every year. Proceeds will help us care for and find

forever homes for every cat, dog, rabbit, guinea pig and all other animals who come

through our doors. We so appreciate Christopher's continued commitment to animal

welfare in the Coachella Valley," says Bart Verry, Director of Development for Palm

Springs Animal Shelter.

In addition to the residences of his private clients, Kennedy will be opening the doors

of his own new home, which he shares with husband and business partner, David

Clark. Kennedy and Clark purchased the midcentury Indian Canyons home in the

summer of 2020, during the depths of the pandemic. They have since embarked on a

two-year remodel, which Kennedy’s tens of thousands of followers have been eagerly

watching on social media. The weekend will mark the home’s official debut.

“Our rescue dog, Harley, is the light of our lives – and our new house would not be a

home without him,” Kennedy remarks. “We support many wonderful charities in the

Coachella Valley, but when it came to choosing a partner for our modernism tours, the

Palm Springs Animal Shelter was the perfect fit.”
