My Thoughts on Spring Decor

As much of the country is covered in snow there is a resounding plea for spring to set them free. If you have become ridiculously close to your shovel this post is for you. Here are a few ways to celebrate the coming season long before Mother Nature gets the memo. When I want to welcome spring into a space I elevate my senses. What does that mean? It means, I disregard the obvious to create rooms that will fit my clients’ lives in any season.

A wise designer knows how to edit an idea so the true value can shine. One of the easiest ways to integrate spring is to cleanse the palette with clean white walls. Yes, the room will still sing the song of spring without pastel colored paint on the wall! White walls allow season-inspired artwork and other colorful influences like furniture and accessories to really pop throughout the room.

A fresh vase of flowers can never hurt a design. The key is to edit and/or think twice about the size of the bouquet; flowers should be accents not the stars of the room. I am also partial to house plants, because they improve the quality of indoor air.

A home is meant to be lived and loved in and that is why the final design should be open to personal touches like family photos and linens that have been passed from generation to generation. As always, my goal is timeless design. I hope this post inspires you to Live. Beautifully. in any season.
