Celerie Kemble is a designer, innovator, mother and a good friend. At an early age her world was a swirling revolution of color, antiques and design 101 at the hands of her mother and designer Mimi McMakin of Kemble Interiors. For 15+ years, Celerie has woven her clients’ dreams into tangible living spaces filled with the sentiment of a family quilt. Some people are born to do what they do and Celerie was destined to design. She has designed floor coverings with Merida Meridian and wall coverings with F. Schumacher. More recently, she launched a furniture line with Henredon. The following are some of my favorite pieces from my tour of Celerie’s line at the High Point Market. We share a love for things that are classically-inspired, even a bit preppy, but updated for today’s way of life.
Celerie will design the master suite of the Christopher Kennedy Compound: Modernism Week Showhouse. I can’t wait to see what she has planned for the space and to show her around Palm Springs!
